• Nubacha @ Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, Melaka-Malacca

NUBACHA!! Don't be fooled as it sounds like one of those Japanese style tea outlets, isn't it? It is definitely not one of them. Nubacha restaurant has been going for 10 months and is one of the historical town's venues of a smart choice for western food.

A combination of old furniture right infront of the bar counter, renovation blends in simple  modernisation feel with unique table arrangements with white chairs and pieces of funky arts adorning the wall.

Nubacha @ Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, Melaka-Malacca

The menu here offers some inspirational relief from the standard Western fare. With his passion for food, the chef deviates from the norm and comes up with his own recipe.

Soup of the day-Mushroom Celery Soup @ RM 5.90 served with garlic bread

B.C Sausage (Pork) @ MYR 20.00 served with potato and salad
Home made sausage with cheese. Ground pork with cheese- fresh, meaty and flavorful. A star studded dish indeed!

Americon Charbroiled Chicken @ MYR 16.90 served with potato and salad
Something slightly more humble, but still a good choice. Well marinated with earthy flavour. The accompanying sauce and the perfectly grilled chicken is a good counterpoint.

Charbroiled Apple Belly @ MYR 16.90 served with garden salad and potatoes
From the grill, the surf and turf with this delicious pork belly with chef's apple sauce means a perfect lunch. Adventorous! Every bite is exciting!

Malacca Pork Bun (Original) @ MYR 8.90

  • My Rock & Roll Blues Cafe @ Melaka-Malacca

Mr Mark Britt Ruffin from Maryland,USA has been running this cafe since 1997. Back then, dad's shop was just a few doors away and we used to dine at Rock & Rolls quite frequently. And then we moved. Nostalgically, bro brought us back to pay Mr Mark a visit.

Mr Mark loves playing guitar and he runs a band, you will note that there are lots of posters of legendary artists and rock & roll bands.

  • Fat Spoon Cafe @ Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya

A unique restaurant hidden at the all time jam area- Damansara Utama but yet popular for it's food and concept.

The eestaurant offers a unique concept: quaint, warm old-school-classic-meets-contemporary space. The mismatching of the wooden tables, chairs and vintage furnitures with not overly decorated cafe creates a homey old style ambience. And the menu is presented in the "Peter & Jane" story book.

Fat Spoon Cafe @ Uptown Damansara, Petaling Jaya

    Food & Beverages

The restaurant serves authentic grandma recipe, which suits one's discerning palates. The menu covers Peranakan cuisine, Chinese cuisine as well as Malay and Western cuisine that has a rustic, home cooked flavour, which evokes a comforting familiarity. Besides that, Fat Spoon cafe is famous for its coffee as well.

    Homemade Popiah @ RM 7.90
The Chinese style popiah is famous for it's pork lard taste. But at Fat Spoon Cafe ( a pork free cafe) the popiah is prepared without pork lard. My thoughts -it would be good and I was wrong-Tasted good indeed!

    Cappuccino @ RM 7.90
    Passionly brewed. Aromatic!

Fried Mackerel & Gingerflower Salad @ RM 15.90
Served with a side of medium boiled egg and lemongrass soup. Very well marinated crispy fried mackerel. Honestly, that piece was just not enough! Simply appetizing!

    Nasi Kampung @ RM 14.90
Fat Spoon special platter with curry chicken, tamarind prawns, belacan long beans, salted egg and papadum served with steam rice.  Tasty thick curry gravy pairing with belacan long beans means awesome.

And here comes our dessert! Thick and moist chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream. Toothsome!

Besides Pizza Hut or Shakey's, here's a good recommendation for everyone. Be warned, it's pack during lunch hour and dinner time- be early!

  • The George & Dragon Pub @ Bangsar Shopping Centre

Hola!! I am back!! Bringing the legend of St. George to everyone!

What about Saint George and The Dragon Legend? I have just learned it today and will definitely share with everyone at the end of this post.

Back to The George & Dragon Pub, the naming of the pub cum restaurant was inspired by the legend of St George. In the Middle Ages, the dragon was commonly used to represent the Devil, and Saint George was the famous heroic legend. Thus, the George and Dragon is a place where the heroes, princesses and the devils meet, what will happen there, is all up to your imagination!

Grilled Salmon Fettuccini Set @ RM 16.00 Nett

Chicken Chop Set @ RM 16.00

An a plate of simple yet deliciously prepared chicken chop served with mashed potato and vegetables. Thumbs up!

George and Dragon Pub carried a unique traditional English pub concept. It's definitely a perfect place for quiet lunch at noon and an ideal pub to chill out at night or perhaps, happy hour?

Lastly, not forgetting to thank my fellow colleagues for buying me lunch. Appreciate that!

  • Cafe Vienna @ Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur City Centre

Meeting up with my girl mate at KLCC! Am happy that we had a good catch up at Cafe Vienna.

Cafe Vienna @ Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur City Centre

A cafe with soft, romantice ambience clearly appealing to many young couples to dine in. Wait, did I just mentioned young couples? Ahh... who cares... we like the quiet environment here.

    Spaghetti Vongole @ RM 36.00

Spagethi with clams, garlic, olive oil and seasonings. Spaghetti Vongole are normally prepared in two ways- with tomato (in rosso) or without tomato (in Bianco). Myself preferred in Bianco, but this is satisfying too besides lacking of the al dente feel.

    Chicken Sandwich @ RM 26.00

Crispy fried well marinated chicken chop with cheese. Just nice!

Drinks: Pineapple Sunshine & Bora Bora Brew @ RM 16.00/each

Enjoyed the time spent here. Cafe Vienna serves coffee, western food and desserts. A perfect place to chill out.
